Lynn Marie Ross
(née Ward)

January 18, 1963 – December 14, 2021

On the morning of December 14, 2021, Lynn Marie (Ward) Ross, of Circle Pines, Minnesota, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 58.

Lynn was born January 18, 1963 to Kearn and Mary Ward of Westbrook, Minnesota, the third of four children. She attended school in Pipestone until the Ward family headed north to their new home in Forest Lake in 1980. Lynn graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1981.

She married her high school sweetheart Daniel Ross on August 28, 1982, and the newlyweds settled in Pipestone. Lynn attended Pipestone Vocational Technical School and earned a degree in accounting.

Lynn returned to the Twin Cities area when she was offered a transfer to manage the Hardy’s in White Bear Lake. Lynn and Dan made their home in Stacy, and their family expanded to three when their daughter Amber Marie Ross was born on March 10, 1990. From there on out, Amber was Lynn’s world. Amber and Lynn were the very best of friends, and the mother-daughter duo spent as much time together as possible. And when they were apart, Lynn was always just a phone call away for her “Brown-Eyed Girl,” the song she used as her ringtone for Amber for many years.

In 1997, the Ross family relocated to their current home in Circle Pines. After leaving a nearly 20-year career in food service management, Lynn worked in accounting at several companies before joining Land O’Lakes, where she worked for over 15 years. Lynn adored her time at LOL, especially cherishing the years she worked in the same building as her younger sister, Jodi, and they ate lunch together nearly every day. While at LOL, s he also donated countless lunch hours to delivering meals to seniors in need through the Meals on Wheels program.

Lynn was diagnosed with stage four lung and kidney cancer in 2019. She fought valiantly through several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. No matter the discomfort or pain she was in, Lynn remained the same loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother she always was. She was called to a better place in December 2021, a month before what would’ve been her 59th birthday.

Lynn’s infectious laugh, generous heart, and love for her family will never be forgotten. Lynn showed up at as many family events as she could. She attended as many birthday parties, weddings, baby and bridal showers as she could, and never missed a single one of her goddaughter Sami’s musicals. More than anything, her daughter and two grandchildren, Jayden and Bryleigh Cooper, were her pride and joy. She would do anything for her “sunshines,” as she often called those she loved, and was always snapping as many photos of them as she could.

In her free time, Lynn also enjoyed shopping, music — especially Elton John and Billy Joel — attending live theatrical performances and concerts, giving gifts, and traveling. She’ll also never be forgotten for the lucky lady she was. Lynn had a mysterious knack for radio contests and drawings, often managing to win something really cool — from tickets to a private Rob Thomas concert, to front row seats to the musical “Mean Girls” on Broadway.

Lynn is survived by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Dan, her daughter Amber, grandchildren Jayden and Bryleigh, her parents Kearn and Mary, her siblings Lori (Jeff) Carstensen, Dale (Cindy) Ward, and Jodi (Greg) West, as well as countless other family members and friends.

Lynn will always be in all of our hearts.

Memorial Service 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 21 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Dr. (County Hwy 23). Visitation at the funeral home from 10-11 AM Tuesday.
