Mae married George A. Drobinski in 1946. To this union were born three children: a son who died in infancy; another son, Robert; and a daughter, Kathleen. Mae would also be married twice more: to Lloyd P. Jensen in 1966, and to William Ellis in 1982.

During her life Mae worked for the Sperry Rand Company, Control Data, and Sports, Fish, and Wildlife, doing drafting for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed working in this capacity, and was often praised for her work.

Mae loved gardening, cooking and canning, and caring for her home and family. She enjoyed the holiday get-togethers and outdoor BBQs with her children and grandchildren, who have many fond memories of these wonderful family times.

Mae is preceded in death by her infant son; her daughter, Kathleen Rambo; two grandsons, Richard Schwinden and James Wildenhauer Jr.; her parents; sister, Fran (Bud) Davison; and half-brother, Dean (Linda) Wettig.

She leaves to mourn her, her son Robert (Linda) Drobinski; two granddaughters, Michelle (Ronald) Pope and Aimee (Tarl) Telford; four great-granddaughters; three great-great-grandsons; half-brothers, Gordon (Anita) Hanson and Jay Wettig; other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
