Maureen J. Shepard (Casey)
August 13, 1941 - August 6, 2021
Maureen passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2021 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Preceded in death by husbands, Thomas J. Casey and Arlin R. Shepard.
Survived by children, Kathleen Casey Archambeau (Lyle), Kevin (Anna), Maura Coenen (Pete); grandchildren, Meghan Williams (Nick), Brianne, Rachel, Gabriella, Thomas, Connor, and Casey; great-grandchildren, Fiona and Jack; stepchildren, Kathy (Ricky) Powers, Teresa Hunter (Tony), Garret (Deb) Shepard, LeeAnn (Bill) Shogren, Doug (Melissa) Shepard; step-grandchildren, Joe, Sarah (Kris), Adam, Christopher, Jesse (Lisa), Mandy, Jennifer (Josh), Jessica (Michael), Stefanie (Brent), Tyler (Tia), Spencer and Wyatt; step-great grandchildren, Tai, Mimi, Tatten, Dekker, Oliver, Paisley, Emmitt, Max, Raph, and Evelyn; sister, Kathleen (Gordy) Gilde; brother, James (Cheri) Hand; in-laws, Ann Donohoe, Betty Casey, Bridie Maguire, Daniel Mahoney and many nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
During her career, Maureen worked as a Ramsey County Deputy Sheriff and eventually retired from Unisys in 2000. The St. Patrick's Assocation and organizing the annual St. Patrick's Day parade were among her many contributions. For her efforts, Maureen was recognized as the Most Distinguished Irish Woman 1998; a recognition she cherished. Maureen loved her family, adored her grandchildren, her many friends and of course, all things Irish.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 11 at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 380 E. Little Canada Rd, Little Canada. Visitation at the church from 10-11 AM Wednesday. Interment St. John's Church Cemetery.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care. Maureen was loved by many as a mom, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her spirit, determination to fight, and strength will be greatly missed.
