Andrea Marie Maranda

Andrea Marie (Polta) Maranda, age 47, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on Saturday 8-15-26 surrounded by family at home.

Andrea was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest & Mary Ann Heroff and Edward & Sharyn Polta; and sister-in-law, Danielle Maranda.

She is survived by her husband, Andy; son, Ben; parents, Paul and Peggy Polta; brother, Luke Polta; sister, Erica Polta; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Tracy Maranda; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Andrea was a Registered Nurse for 19 years. 13 of those years were spent at University of Minnesota Physicians in Oncology as an RN, and she finished her career as a Clinical Supervisor. Andrea cared deeply for her team of nurses as they did her.

Family was most important to Andrea. She absolutely loved being a mother to Ben and wife to Andy.

Andrea was so caring, kind, and completely selfless. She was an incredible human being, truly the best. We love and will miss her every day for the rest of our lives.

A special Thank You to the team at AccentCare (Michaela and Angel) for all the compassion and care they gave to Andrea, and also to Dr. Krieger and the Holy Spirit community who have been amazing from the beginning.

A very special Thank You to Andrea's care team at University of Minnesota Physicians, namely Lucy Reinhardt, Dr. Beckwith, Judi and all of her phenomenal nurses that all cared for her with so much love! 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Andrea will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 25 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 398 W. Superior St., St. Paul. Visitation will be held at the church from 10-11 AM Tuesday. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
