Ann Sluss

May 31, 1940 — February 8, 2023

Ann Sluss (Helmin), age 82, of Plymouth, passed peacefully on February 8, 2023 with her children by her side.  Born in Gilman, MN, as the second youngest of 13 children, she married her husband Donald Sluss and settled in Circle Pines to raise their family. She lived there for over 50 years.  After spending time at home with her young children, she went to work in the television and computer monitor industry, working for a couple of different companies before settling in and eventually retiring from Dotronix in New Brighton as a documentation specialist.  Ann had many talents and was an amazing cook and baker, leaving lasting memories of the things she concocted in the kitchen. She and Don built a great family and great friendships that lead to clubs and leagues and lots of road trips. She especially loved her casino trips with her extended friends and family. Ann was proud of her salt and pepper shaker collection that she accumulated over the years, proudly displaying them in her living room.  She had a strong faith and was a member at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lino Lakes for over 50 years.  Ann is survived by her children, Cindy (Bill) Rousu and Rich (Jenny); grandchildren, Tyler (Stephanie Jestus) and Jacob Rousu, and Claire and Katie Sluss; sister Imelda Lieser; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Elaine Helmin, Susie Bialke, Mary Prehatney, Dorothy Brynman, and Joe Sluss, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Selma (Imbiorski); her husband Don; her sons Bill and Dan; and her siblings, Odilia, Bernadette, Colette, Al, Chester, Pete, Syl, Frank, Josie, and two infant sisters, Marie and Connie.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 14 at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church, 171 Elm St, Lino Lakes. Visitation at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home, 7050 Lake Drive, Lino Lakes from 5-8 PM Monday and at church from 9:30-10:30 AM on Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Parkinson’s Foundation.  The family would like to thank the staff that cared for her and Moments Hospice for all their love and compassion.
