Barbara Jean Money (née Gray)

Barbara J. Money, 98, of Little Canada, MN, passed away on December 5th, 2025 at home following a short illness. She had been a resident of Cardigan Ridge Senior Living in Little Canada for the last 8 years after moving to Minnesota in August, 2017 to live near her daughter and grandchildren.

Barbara was born on August 15, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating from Shortridge High School in June, 1945. She married Harland E. Money, also of Indianapolis, on September 7, 1947. They had two daughters together, Lee Ann and Sandy, and the family later moved to Muncie, Indiana for Harland's work. She had always wanted to be a teacher, so with her children both in school, she started college at the age of 36, attending Ball State University to pursue her teaching degree, graduating in 1970. Two years later, she completed her Masters in Education in June, 1972. Barbara taught first at Gaston Elementary, then later at Wes-Del Middle School until her retirement in 1993. During this time, she was involved in many academic organizations. She was the president of the Pi Lambda Theta Alpha Chapter from 1976-1978, as well as the President of the Delaware County Reading Association. She was also a member of the Beta Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and the American Association of University Women. Barbara's hobbies included a love of gardening, reading, music and cooking holiday meals for her family. During her years in Muncie, Barbara was an active member of Hazelwood Christian Church, and a was a member of the choir there as well.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lee Ann (Ed Merkert) and Sandra (Michael Dolce) and grandchildren Jim and Sara Dolce.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland Money, her mother, Bertha Fry, and her brother, Wayne Gray.

A funeral service for Barbara will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 13 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home - Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd B. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10-11 AM Saturday. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
