Barbara Stanke (Borges), aged 80, of Ramsey, MN, passed away on August 3, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerard and Marie (Schoenberger) Borges, and is survived by her beloved husband, Ed; cherished son, Gerard and his wife Sheryl; treasured grandchildren, Jordan and Jared; and dear siblings, Cheryl (Eldon) Holmes and Gary (Marylee) Borges.

Born in St. Paul, Barb spent her formative years in Marshalltown, Iowa, before returning to the St. Paul area where she attended St. Rose of Lima Elementary School and graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1963. She met Ed in 1968, and they married the following year, raising their son in Shoreview before moving to Ramsey, MN in 1994.

Professionally, Barb dedicated 24 years as a commercial underwriter for State Farm. In retirement, she embraced retail sales and devoted herself to volunteering at Unity Hospital’s gift shop. Known for her love of singing, she participated in various choirs and musical groups. Together with Ed, she spent winters in Stuart, FL, where she volunteered at local church thrift stores, sang in the choir at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and enjoyed card bingo at the local American Legion.

Barb was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 14, at the Church of St. Odilia, Shoreview, with visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 am.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands.
