David will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and the values he instilled in those who knew him.

David Michael Palm, born on June 8, 1956, to Robert and Edith Palm, passed away early Thursday morning, July 23, 2026, at the age of 70.

David was a devoted father, loving brother, and hardworking man who believed in providing for his family, treating others with respect, and always doing his best. Before suffering a life-changing stroke in 2004, he spent many years working in masonry and concrete, building homes, cleaning buildings, waxing floors, and doing whatever it took to support the people he loved.

Although his stroke left him disabled, David’s determination never faded. His mind remained sharp, and he faced the years that followed with quiet strength, resilience, and perseverance.

One of David’s greatest passions was gardening. He had a true green thumb and took great pride in everything he grew. Whether tending vegetables, berries, or flowers, he found joy in watching things flourish under his care. Some of his children’s favorite memories were made working alongside him in the garden, where he taught them the value of patience, hard work, and taking pride in everything they did. Even after his stroke, he continued caring for a garden at his home in Andover, a testament to his determination and enduring love of the outdoors.

David’s greatest legacy is the family he helped raise. Together with Kathleen Palm Rittmiller, the mother of his children and his partner through 40 years of marriage, he raised five children: Ryan, Nathan, Jaime, Shawn, and Hayley. Through his example, he taught them the importance of hard work, responsibility, respect, and always showing up for the people you love.

David is survived by Kathleen Palm Rittmiller; his children, Ryan, Nathan, Jaime, Shawn, and Hayley; his siblings Linda, Janet, Wesley, Sandra, Bryan, Billie Jo, and Greg; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith Palm, and his siblings Robert, Carol, and Mary.

David will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and the values he instilled in those who knew him. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives of his children and everyone blessed to know him.

He will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Monday, August 17, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home – Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Dr., Lino Lakes, MN 55014.

David will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Cemetery in Anoka during a private family graveside service.
