Douglas Paul Pardo, Sr.

October 26, 1955 — December 22, 2022

St. Paul

Douglas Paul Pardo, Sr., of St. Paul, passed away on December 22, 2022 while engaged in a battle with cancer. Born October 26, 1955 to Joe and Joanne Pardo, he graduated from Mounds View High School (1973) and the College of St. Thomas with a BA in Business (1979). He had an entrepreneurial spirit which led him to starting his own small business in the fuel industry, Fleet Fueling Services of Minnesota. Doug enjoyed golfing, and often took his family to the driving range or minigolf to relax. He loved road trips, especially to Duluth, and would stop at every historical marker along the way to learn the history and “stretch his legs”. In warmer months, he pulled his kids into games of softball and hotbox. He loved boating, hiking and walks around the neighborhood with the family, and BBQs were always a hit.  After he retired, Doug became known for his various projects, especially landscaping and decorating the house for Christmas. He encouraged individuality in his children and supported them in pursuing their dreams and goals. His final project encompassed several years of researching and the initial writing of a book on the Seeling/Pardo family history in San Antonio, Texas, focusing on Ed Seeling and his family, land, and accomplishments. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe.Doug loved and is beloved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Joanne; seven brothers and sisters; children, Jessica (Chad), Bethany, Vincent (Kara), Amanda (Daniel), Doug Jr. (Katy), Joanna (Jake), Molly (Peter), Brett, and Anna-Marie; as well as 13 grandchildren. His grandchildren, Yahaira, Grace, Braden, Israella, Veronica, Daniel, Ian, Aiden, Lydia, Margot, Peter Jr., Wilder and Ophelia, were the lights and loves of his life.A funeral service on Monday, January 2 at 12:00 Noon at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville), 2130 N. Dale St at County Road B. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10 AM - 12 Noon Monday. Doug will be privately laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
