Edward Szulim

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle, Edward Szulim on September 14th, 2026.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Jozef and Elzbieta Szulim; and brother, John Szulim.

He is survived by his children, April Szulim (Cullen), Eddie Szulim (Becky); and their mother, Carol Szulim; grandchildren, Emery Crawford Szulim, Taylor Szulim, and Aaliyah Szulim; siblings, Stanley (Danita) Szulim, Christine (Gary) Poole, Bozena Vanderloop, and Anna (Bruce) Anderson; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ed was born in Poland on June 5th, 1957. He immigrated to the United States in 1966 as the family settled in St. Paul, MN. Growing up, he attended St. Casimir School and went on to graduate from Johnson High School in 1975.

After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and served his term with an honorable discharge. For many years, Ed worked for the St. Paul Water Department and for Marsden Services at Target Field.

Our beloved Ed was a kindhearted man that would help anyone anyway he could and was known for his big hugs. He made routine rounds of phone calls to family and friends to check in to see how they were doing. He always was the one to tell jokes or play the prank to lighten up the room. Ed liked to spend his time outdoors gardening, trying new restaurants and playing with his companion, Lucky.

As he will be greatly missed here on earth, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain in our hearts forever. Our peace is knowing that he is reunited with his father, mother and brother whom he deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ed will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 9 at The Church of St. Casimir, 934 Geranium Ave. E, St. Paul. Visitation will be at the church from 10-11 AM Friday. A luncheon will be served immediately following the mass, followed by interment at 2:30 PM at Elmhurst Cemetery, 1510 N. Dale St., St. Paul.
