Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother
Eric was preceded in death by parents, Adolph and Alida; and siblings, Paul, Alida, Paulie and Mark.
Survived by wife, Terry Fleischhacker, whom he loved fiercely, as well as cherished daughters, Gina (Mike Brodtmann) and Amy (Duane Peterson) and grandchildren, Kaycie, Josephine, Luke, and Emma. Also survived by brothers, Karl (Barb Hunn) and John (Julie) Miesen. Forty-nine Fleischhackers were beyond fortunate to have him in their lives.
Eric spent the best years of his life in Como Park. He was the proud president of Miesen Roofing for 43 years. He discovered golf and became a founding member of the infamous Ridge Riders Golf Club. Jehovah Lutheran was his spiritual home since childhood and he humbly served as head usher for many years. The last few years, Eric had many pleasurable hours riding his e-bike either alone or with a group of friends. He bundled up in a snowmobile suit and rode all winter.
No story of Eric’s life would be complete without a mention of his love for food. Whether it be cooking or eating (or grocery shopping), he enjoyed culinary arts immensely. Sunday night was for planning the weekly “Le Menu”. So sorry to all who never experienced his fried chicken.
The family thanks Eric’s care team at Minnesota Oncology, the incredibly kind folks at Our Lady of Peace Hospice and the amazing women in the infusion room at St. John's Hospital. Additional thanks to everyone who brightened Eric’s days.
We will celebrate Eric’s life 11:00 AM Saturday, December 6 at Jehovah Lutheran Church, 1566 Thomas Ave., St. Paul with a visitation starting at 10 AM. The officiating pastor will be Rev. Dr. Joshua Miller.
The interment will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 8 at Roselawn Cemetery, 803 W. Larpenteur Ave., Roseville.
