Fr. Patrick J. Ryan

Father Patrick J. Ryan, age 91, of White Bear Lake died on July 14, 2024. 

Preceded in death by parents, Edward J. & Liguoria (Quigley) Ryan; and his sister, Mary Margaret Ryan. 

Father Ryan studied at Louvain, Belgium and was ordained there in 1958. He subsequently obtained his PhD in Rome, Italy. Upon returning to Minnesota, he was pastor at the parishes of St. Agnes, Transfiguration, St. Rose of Lima, St. Andrew’s and St. Charles in Bayport. He also spent six years in Venezuela as a missionary where he was successful in building a new church. He also assisted in parishes in Wisconsin such as St. Dominic’s Catholic Church and Immaculate Conception, Grantsburg, WI, and St. Joseph’s, Amery, WI. Father Ryan was a very caring person dedicated to his calling. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. 

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 23 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2048 N. Hamline Ave., Roseville.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation from 9-10 AM Tuesday at the church.
