Gary Keith Easter, 86, of Shoreview, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his beloved farmhouse in Lancaster, MN, after an enjoyable afternoon of deer hunting — a pastime he cherished.

Born June 5, 1939, in St. Vincent, MN, to Herbert and Flora (Turner) Easter, Gary grew up with a love for the outdoors and a zest for life. He graduated from Humboldt High School in 1957 and soon moved to California, beginning a 37 ½-year career with Deluxe Check Printers. In 1959, Gary returned to Minneapolis and married the love of his life, Joanne Boroski, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in rural Lancaster. Together, they shared 66 wonderful years filled with laughter, adventures, and countless memories.

Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. military from 1962 to 1964 and remained a proud veteran throughout his life. He was a man who radiated kindness and joy, with a gift for making everyone feel welcome and a smile that could light up any room. His greatest pride was his family — his daughters, Jennifer and Jessica, and his four grandchildren, Avery, Mason, Jack, and Cole — who were the center of his world.

Outside of family, Gary embraced life's adventures. He loved hunting and fishing, spending time at Buffalo Bay in Manitoba and camping with friends in Diamond Bluff, WI. He enjoyed trap shooting, cribbage battles with his brother-in-law, snowmobiling in the early days, and restoring his prized 1957 Chevy. Most of all, he loved cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events. Gary's warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; daughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Wageman and Jessica (Tony) Dahl; grandchildren, Avery and Mason Wageman and Jack and Cole Dahl; sisters, Cheri (Laurel) Wenstad, Donna (Dave Mills) Matthews, Kathy Wilkie, and his in-laws, Joey and Cindy Boroski, and Bill Wightman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Flora; his in-laws, Joe and Julia Boroski; his baby brother, Jack; his sister, Judy Wightman; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Hanson, Bob Matthews, and Gary Wilkie.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Lancaster County Fire Department and Kittson County Ambulance Services for their care and to all who have shared love and support during this difficult time.
