Gertrude E. Ungar

Gertrude E. Ungar, age 98 of Roseville, was born May 21, 1927 and passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. 

Preceded in death by husband, Ernest N.; son, Ronald; and siblings, John Andert, Martha Weinzetl, and Rose Tschida. 

Survived by son, Bob (Libby); grandchildren, Chriss (Rick) Boertje and Cooper Finseth; great-grandchildren, Ryan Finseth, Aubrey (Kyle) Sieberg and Ethan (Anne) Boertje; great-great-grandchildren, Kane and Drake Sieberg; and brother, Len Andert.

Our thanks to Augustana Senior Health and Living in Hastings and St. Croix Hospice for their kind care the last months of her life.

Gert’s eternal legacy is her kindness. She was accepting of everyone, without judgement. She enjoyed hearing about people’s lives and once she spoke to anyone, remembered everything about them and truly cared about their lives. She wrote letters to keep in touch and phoned or sent a card to everyone on their birthday. Gert was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Memorial service 11:00 AM Friday, April 24 at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel, 803 W. Larpenteur Ave., Roseville.
