Gloria D. Arntzen (née DeNardo)

Age 85, of Roseville, MN, passed away peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle against illness with loving family by her side on February 15, 2023. Preceded in death by parents, Luigi & Irene DeNardo; siblings, Louis, Eleanor Biscigilia, Lorraine Peluso; and in-laws, Paul Sr. & Rosemary. Survived by her loving, caring and devoted husband of 64 years, Paul, Jr.; children, Julie (Michael) Armstrong, Paul (Kelly), Jane (Gregory) Hoemke, Matthew (Tanya); grandchildren, Madison, Reed &Taylor Armstrong, Andrea Arntzen, Rachel & Marshall Hoemke, Allison, Louis & Charles Arntzen; sister, Marguerite Sandbeck; sister-in-law, Rose DeNardo; along with dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Gloria was born in St. Paul MN on August 5, 1937, was raised on St. Paul’s (West-side), attended St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Paul (Class of 1955), and attended two years of business school. She was a devout Roman Catholic, and proud Italian American who raised four children and then worked for 22 years as an Office Administrator and Bookkeeper for Donlar Construction (Roseville MN) until her retirement in 2005. She then rented floor space at Sophie Joe’s Thrift Shop (St Paul) as a retirement hobby and sold items acquired by touring flea-markets in Florida during winter seasons. Gloria also donated much time to functions and causes of St. Agnes Catholic Parish and Community. In her free time she was an avid reader, stain-glass window-maker, handwriting grapho-analyzer, bargain shopper, and doting matriarch (Nonna) to her entire family. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Church of St. Agnes, 535 Thomas Ave., St. Paul. Visitation at the church 10:00 - 11:00 AM Tuesday. ​Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Church of St. Agnes or St. Joseph’s Academy Alumnae Assoc., 1890 Randolph Ave., St. Paul, MN 55105.
