Born on June 11, 1932, in St. Paul, MN; died May 8, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of more than 69 years of marriage; children, Penny (George) Brown and Beth (Douglas) Miller; grandchildren, JoAnna (Mathew) Bigler, Joshua (Johannah) Brown, Jason (Nichole) Brown, Christopher (Erin) Miller and Michael Miller; and three great grandchildren. Also, brother Gary (Diane) Robideaux, sister-in-law Mary Robideaux and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Lloyd and Wayne.
Gordon attended elementary schools in St. Paul and graduated from Washington High School (1950) and Macalester College (1955) in St. Paul and received a Master’s Degree in Remedial Reading from Eastern Montana College, Billings, MT.
He taught in St. Paul at Central High School for twenty years and various elementary schools for another twenty years. Gordon was proud to serve his country in the army for three years as a special agent in the Counter Intelligence Corps in New York City.
During his retirement years, Gordon enjoyed square dancing with his partner, Beverly, gardening, many days at his cabin and tree farm for over 55 years near Swanville, MN. His last few years he enjoyed working on a model train layout at his place of residence, Greenhouse Village, Roseville, MN.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Parkview United Church of Christ, 3737 Bellaire Ave., White Bear Lake, MN 55110 with visitation beginning at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Parkview United Church of Christ.
