Gregory R. Wagner

Greg Robert Wagner, age 74, was born December 10, 1949, and passed away at home on June 5, 2024.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert; mother, Geraldine; her second husband, H. Allen Mann; and sister, Ann Dedman.

Survived by wife of 53 years, Katie; son, Steve (Brenda); daughter, Tracy (Chris) Gatten; grandchildren, Nathan, Abigael, Kelan and Arietta (to whom he was known as Papa Mustang); sister, Joan (Wyman) Detzler; brother-in-law, Ed Dedman; many nieces and nephews.

Greg was always a mechanic. One of his earliest projects was named "The Frame" which he built in high school with his best friend. He also had a '59 Ford with a 4-on-the-floor he drag raced on University Ave. His most recent labor of love was a 1980 Ford Mustang Cobra. Greg had a 30+ year long career with MnDOT as a heavy equipment mechanic. After years of "pulling on wrenches", in his retirement he became a computer geek, rebuilding computers and building an extensive music library he called his "suitcase full of music".

As Greg would always end his emails: "May the Force Be With You."

A visitation for Greg will be held from 4-7 PM Wednesday, June 12 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home - Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd B.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
