She had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and loved.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jan Wilson, 77, of St. Paul, Minnesota. Jan passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.

Jan was born in 1948 and grew up in northeastern Iowa. She raised two children while working as a life insurance underwriter for over 35 years. Beyond her career, Jan was known for her voracious reading, her love of traveling, her joy in Scottish dancing, and her devotion to the TV quiz show, "Jeopardy". She also found great delight in birdwatching and spending time with her cherished pets, including a long line of dachshunds. Most of all, she loved being a mother and adored being a grandmother. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and loved. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and love for family.

She is survived by her two children, her two beloved grandchildren, and her brother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beautiful granddaughter.

Services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Macalester Plymouth United Church, 1658 Lincoln Ave, St. Paul, MN.
