Janet L. Carney (Shypulski)

 Janet passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on September 16, 2025 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Janet was born to Frank and Gertrude Shypulski on November 20, 1933, and was the youngest of five children. Preceded in death by her husband Donald Carney in 1979.

Janet and Don raised their children in St. Paul and was a homemaker for most of her married life. After Don’s passing, Janet was able to move into the home she grew up in near Como Park where she resided until this year.

Janet was funny and a joy to be around. We were all awed by her ability to do NYT crossword puzzles in ink without any outside resources. She loved her entire family covering many generations and always looked for the positive in others.

She was faithful to her beloved Catholic faith and a member of Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. Janet is survived by her four children, Patrick (Dee Dee) Carney, Kathleen (Keith) Hill, Colleen (Dale) Westerberg and Timothy (Denise) Carney plus seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.
