Proudly raised in Northeast Minneapolis. She met her high school sweetheart Mike and after much smooching at the Heights Theater they became each other’s world. They graduated from Edison High School in 1960. She married her honey in 1961 and started a family.
She was “Mom” to all, always keeping a seat open at the table for anyone who needed one. Known for her incredible cooking—though never with a written recipe—she filled every meal with love.
She will be remembered for her spunk, quick wit, and the way she made everyone feel welcome.
She loved to shop and could never have enough shoes, makeup, jewelry, or sweatshirts.
She loved her family and was a very proud grandma and great-grandma, or as she called herself Gran Jan.
Survived by husband Mike, children, Doug, Nan (Paul) Moore, Jody (Harris) Perkel, and Jason (Keri); 8 grandchildren; 7.5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jeanne (Leif) Solberg & Judy (Lloyd) Fortman.
Celebration of life on Saturday, September 6 from 1-4 PM at 972 Kelly St, Lino Lakes, MN 55014.
