Jean M. Smith

Jean Margaret Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. Born on July 3, 1940, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jean was the cherished daughter of Gerad and Helen Anderson. She grew up alongside her four sisters, Karen, Kathy, Helen, and Lynn and lived a life full of laughter and close-knit bonds. 

Jean’s greatest joys were her family. She was married to Archie Smith, and was a loving mother to their three sons, Mark (Shannon), Scott (Kim), and David (Kari). Her role as a grandmother was one she treasured deeply, and she leaves behind a legacy of love in her six grandchildren: Emma, Gabe, Kate, Nina, Madeline, and Emily. She cherished every moment spent with them, from holidays to simple afternoons. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerad and Helen, and her sisters, Karen and Helen. 

Jean's warm smile, kind heart, and love of adventure and travel will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her sons, grandchildren, sisters Kathy and Lynn, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial service 2 PM Saturday, September 20 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St., Roseville, MN 55113. Visitation from 1-2 PM Saturday. A gathering will follow the service at the home of Dave and Kari Smith.
