John David Enestvedt

J. David Enestvedt, age 86, of Shoreview, passed away on December 19, 2023.

Survived by daughter, Anne (Marco) Sanchez of Reno, NV; son, Paul (Kristin Gilbertson) Enestvedt of Excelsior; sister, Carol (Jerold) Halloran of St. Paul; brother, C. Thomas (Allison) Enestvedt of St. Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by wife, Tora; and parents, C. Norman and Margaret Enestvedt.

Dave grew up on St Paul’s Summit Avenue and graduated from Cretin High School and St. John’s University. He married Tora in 1968 and together they raised their children in St Anthony Park. He enjoyed a long career with Great Lakes Coal and Dock, and in retirement volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was an active member of St Joseph’s Parish in Lino Lakes. Big Dave will be remembered for his easy humor, his unending generosity, and his deep faith.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church, 171 Elm Street, Lino Lakes. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment St. Joseph's Church Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Saint John's Abbey, Little Sisters of the Poor; Holy Family Residence, or Lakes LifeCare Center.
