It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Justin "Jay Mo" Moeller, loving father, son, brother, family member, and community leader who passed away on April 18, 2026 at the age of 45 due to complications of cancer.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Warren & Mary (Smyth) Soule and Leonard & Dorothy (Eberhardt) Moeller; and mother, Barbara (Soule) Moeller. He is survived by father, Steven Moeller; daughter, Shenette Julien; partner in life, Shenequa Julien; sisters, Takela Swims, Jessica Moeller (Luciano Najera, Jr.) and Lizzy Reilly (Ben Reilly); brothers; Robert Julien and Joel Tanem (Heather Tanem); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, and extended family in Chicago, and throughout the country.
Justin was first and foremost, a loving and devoted father to his daughter. Among the many milestones of his well-lived life, his daughter Shenette was always his number one priority, and he was always proud to share her accomplishments, life updates, and express his profound love for all the good that she encompasses. His dedication to his daughter and extended family will never be forgotten - Justin didn't have friends, he had family and he truly became one of the family. Whom he loved so deeply and without question for many, many years.
Driven always to stand up for what's right, Justin will eternally be remembered as a force of power in his family and his community, he showed up in so many ways and that will never be forgotten. He was deeply proud to be a member of the Minneapolis community and humbly supported his community behind the scenes for many, many years. He was always willing to help, to give advice, to volunteer.
Among the many milestones of his well-lived life, he touched countless lives. He proudly stood in solidarity with so many; through bad weather, when it was uncomfortable, when it was inconvenient, and even after being diagnosed with cancer. He remained active in showing up and voicing his support, even if not physically. He loved so fully and is loved by so many. Justin's legacy of love for his family, humor, perseverance, humility, and standing up for what's right will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His remarkable life will forever be an inspiration; a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit.
