Born April 9, 1960, resident of Vadnais Heights, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord on January 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by son, Luke; fiance, Angela; parents, Karl and Kathy; sister, Kristine and brother-in-law Roger; and special aunt, Tina; and many other relatives and friends.
Karl was born and raised on the East Side of St. Paul/Phalen area to Karl and Kathy. As a kid, he loved riding dirt bikes, a passion that naturally grew into a lifelong love of motorcycles. After high school, he began his training to become a Union Commercial Carpenter. He worked alongside his dad for years on many projects throughout the Twin Cities. The last 25 years of his career, he was the only Carpenter for the City of Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Convention Center, where he was well-respected and known as a master of his trade.
Karl was a motorcycle, Jeep and Cadillac enthusiast. He was mechanically inclined and loved spending time in his garage. Whether it was working on cars or building motorcycles piece-by-piece, or making something amazing out of some metal and a few pieces of scrap wood, he had an eye for detail and a deep pride in making sure everything was done right. He was a true craftsman and perfectionist.
Karl was so proud of his only son, Luke. He spent time teaching Luke right from wrong and sharing life's lessons. He enjoyed every minute they were together. As Luke grew older, Karl loved watching him play high school football and never missed a game. There was never a father more proud than Karl seeing Luke graduate from college and begin his career in finance. Karl, Luke and Angie had many fun times together. One of their favorite things to do was going on little adventures in the Jeep, always taking the roads less traveled, exploring cool places along the way.
Karl lived life to its fullest and enjoyed spending time with his longtime girlfriend and fiance, Angela, with whom he shared many fun times, laughter, and years of companionship. Their time together was filled with the everyday moments that meant the most to him.
A celebration of Karl's life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 28 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home -Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Drive. Visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.
As Karl would say for anything planned mid-afternoon, "Great, right in the middle of the day so I can't get anything else done." He will always be remembered for his quick wit, clever comebacks and joking personality, combined with a little smirk on his face, that brought laughter to those around him.
