Kathleen "Kitty" Ivory (née Bannigan), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, friend, colleague, and caregiver, passed away on June 14, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable life.
Kitty’s heart was as generous as her smile. She devoted her life to caring for others, always placing faith, family, and friends at the center of everything she did. She made everyone feel valued, loved, and cared for.
Known affectionately to many as "Nurse Kitty," she dedicated her professional life to serving patients and supporting the practices of Drs. Hurwitz, Lerner, Nelson, and Butwinick. She approached her work with the same warmth and devotion that she brought to every aspect of her life.
Kitty was immensely proud of her Irish heritage and delighted in sharing its traditions with family and friends. She loved spending time on the golf course, hosting gatherings that brought people together, and filling her home with music, laughter, and love. Her hospitality was legendary, and no one ever left her home hungry. She was especially known for her extraordinary baking talents, including her delicious chocolate chip cookies and beautifully decorated cakes.
Kitty found her greatest joy in her family. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, a proud mother to her daughters and an adoring grandmother. Kitty was blessed with many lifelong friendships that enriched her life. The family extends special thanks and love to Kathy Spitzmueller, Joannie Anderson, Colleen and Paul LaBelle, and the many dear friends who shared in Kitty's journey and brought her so much joy and companionship over the years.
She is survived by her loving husband Bill; loving daughters Bridget (Tim) Corbett and Megan (Tom) Carr; cherished grandchildren Charlie, Will, Annie (Nick), Katie (Jackson), Liam, Desmond, Tommy, and Finn; one great-grandchild on the way; in-laws Eileen Ivory, Jack and Zona Ivory, Nora Ivory, Margaret Barrett, and Roie Ivory; many godchildren; and countless friends and extended family members who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathryn (Concannon) Bannigan; her brother, John Bannigan; her beloved uncles, John Concannon, Tom Flaherty, and Don Ryan; her godson, Sean Ryan; and many cherished family members and friends who welcomed her home.
Kitty's legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the friends she cherished, the patients she comforted, and the countless acts of kindness she shared throughout her life. She will be remembered for her faith, her generosity, her laughter, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to everyone fortunate enough to know her. May her memory be a blessing.
A celebration of Kitty’s life will take place at a wake at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville) 2130 N. Dale St. on Friday, June 26 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave. NW, New Brighton from 9:30 – 10:30 am Saturday, June 27 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am.
