Kenneth (Ken) Roland Pelto Jr., 85, died peacefully August 28, 2022, at New Perspective Senior Living in Roseville, MN. He was born March 4, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Kenneth Roland Pelto Sr. and Mary Helen (Robertson) Pelto. Ken graduated from Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Michigan, Class of 1956. He went on to attend the University of Detroit. Following college, he studied with the Army Corps of Engineers in Detroit. He went on to a long career with the United States Department of Agriculture, where he spent 35 years as a civil engineer. He was married to his wife Marlowe for 35 years before her passing in 2020.In addition to his parents Kenneth Sr. and Mary Helen, Ken was predeceased by his wife Marlowe, children Kenneth Pelto III, Eli Arthur, Eli Patrick, and Elizabeth, and his step-grandson Ryan Mumm. He is survived by his children Ed (Patty), Wally (Amy), and Ann, his stepchildren Wendy (Rick), John (Tina), and Dan (Carrie), as well as 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.Ken will be remembered as a witty and humorous man. He greatly enjoyed reading books, golfing, spending time in southern California, and all things related to hockey. He was very fond of the Great Lakes, his Detroit roots, and Michigan lighthouses.
