Lyle R. Hovda passed away in the early morning hours of December 27th, 2025 peacefully in his home.
Lyle is survived by his four children, Pamela Hovda, Paula Adamson, Rick Hovda and Chris Hovda; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Originally from St. Paul, Lyle resided in Vadnais Heights, MN while raising up his children and settled later in life to River Falls, WI, like the Packers fan he is, with his life partner, Cathy Gunderson.
Lyle owned and operated The Golden Shear, a barbershop on the East Side of St Paul, for over 30 years. The thing Lyle liked the most about the barbershop was the people. He loved being able to talk to people and hear their stories and in a way become a small part of those people's stories.
When Lyle had some spare time on his hands he was going to be near the water. He traveled the world anywhere he could wear a speedo, spent time on his motor yacht and took anyone who would go with him fishing.
To know Lyle is to love him and he will be greatly missed by so many people.
A Celebration of Lyle's life will be held from 4-7 PM Friday, January 9, 2026 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home - Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd B.
