Passed away at home in Circle Pines on May 10 with loving family members at his side after a long battle with cancer.  Mark was born in Golden Valley on March 7, 1959 and grew up in the Twin Cities area.

Serving a few years in the Navy gave him a chance to see the world before settling down to a career in screen printing.  He married his beloved wife, Annette, in 1990.

Mark loved golfing with his mom, family and his buddies. We will always remember his hole in one with Scott at Bunker Hills on the 4th hole. He also enjoyed watching golf just as much, Tiger was his favorite and he missed not being able to watch him play.

He was the biggest Viking fan there was, he watched every game with high hopes that they would someday make it to the Super Bowl.  Last fall was one of the best seasons that we have had for a long time, and I know that he was hopeful again.

Traveling was something we enjoyed doing together.  If it was not long weeks up north just to get away or going to Red Wing to see Cindy & Mark, we went on long trips to Cancun, Las Vegas, Seattle, Hawaii and a driving trip to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons.  This was always a special time for us.  Our dream was Alaska.

Entertaining at home or going out to eat with friends and family was always special for him, he loved his steak & lobster.  He could never get enough.

Mark had a love for animals and that love gave him some very special relations with our dogs, birds and our cats over the years.  We have always had a pet of some kind during our time together. I know that his kitties will miss him.

Mark loved being home just as much. When he was at home he was always thinking or inventing things. Coming up with new ideas is what he did.  And most of all...puttering around in his huge and gorgeous back yard.  He was artistic, funny, and a good friend to many. He will be truly missed by all.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Russell Pieper and his mother, Dolores “Gram” Pieper.

Survived by wife, Annette; sisters, Cindy Eliason (Mark) and Claudia Daniels (Jim Thielman); many special in-laws, much loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
