Melissa S. Kaltveit

July 31, 1983 — November 2, 2023

St. Paul

Melissa Sue Kaltveit departed this life on November 2, 2023. She joins her partner and soulmate, Antione Dante Williams Sr, and loving grandparents Raymond Kaltveit and LaMoine Warner.

She is survived by two sons, Antione Jr (“Junior”) and Anton Williams; parents, Michael and Susan Kaltveit; sisters, Jennifer (Pablo) Kaltveit-Solis, and April (Jason Olson) Kaltveit; grandmother, Theresa Kaltveit; nephew, Raymond Kaltveit-Olson; aunt, Michelle (Randy Hagen) Tallman; cousin, Andrew (Lindsay) Tallman; best friend, Michelle Wischnewski; beloved pets, King and Oreo. Melissa also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Melissa lived most of her life in Saint Paul, attending school at Maternity of Mary Saint Andrews before graduating from Concordia Academy with the class of 2002. She studied at both Hamline University and Augsburg College before embarking on her career, most recently celebrating ten years with Allianz Life Insurance.

Melissa was a lifelong lover of sports. In addition to spectating, she played basketball, soccer, and her favorite - softball - through high school. Most recently, she channeled her sports energy into cheering on Junior and Anton at each of their many football and basketball games.

Melissa was a devoted mother and loyal daughter, sister, and friend. She loved trying new breweries, restaurants, and traveling whenever she had the chance. Melissa will be remembered for her tenacity, wit, vibrant energy, and vivid facial expressions. The world will not be the same without her, and it is better because of her.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date, when Melissa’s oldest son, Junior, is well enough to attend. Follow Junior’s recovery journey here.
