Meridith Eileen Glass, born on September 9th, 1992, died after a valiant battle with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, an extremely rare and aggressive cancer.

Meridith grew up in Roseville, Minnesota. A true child of the 90’s, she had a self-described idyllic childhood. Meridith was the child who built a fort in her room to voraciously devour her favorite books and stayed up till all hours of the night doing so. While being raised by two devoted parents, Gene and Suzanne Kasper Glass, Meridith and her sister Elena enjoyed playing in sprinklers in the summers, cooking with their dad, putting on embarrassing plays and musicals in their living room with their friends, and watching The Price is Right every Saturday.

She attended Roseville High School. Meridith was a wonderful student, graduating top of her class, and was active in theatre, choir, and band. She traveled to Italy with her acapella group, the Good Pellas, and forged many friendships.

Meridith played the piano and the flute and had the voice of an angel. She was one of those weirdos who loved music theory. Continuing her deep love of music, she attended Loyola University and graduated in 2015 with a major in Music. This started a deep love of Chicago, a city she lived in for 10 years.

Meridith faced some challenges in her life. In 2021, at age 28, she became sober from alcohol, a strong addiction that she had faced for years prior. Meridith became the brightest and best version of herself after she stopped drinking, and she inspired many others with her strong and deep commitment to self-care. Her sobriety was a pillar in her life, one she fought very hard for, and one that we’re incredibly proud of.

After working in multiple service industry jobs in her 20’s, Meridith found a career that combined her passion for helping others with her incredible customer service skills at Care Counseling as an Intake Coordinator. She enjoyed speaking with people who wanted to seek mental health services, and she found an incredible network of therapists that she loved working with.

Meridith had the most giant heart. She was the first to listen to anyone’s story, empathize with other’s journeys, and was the most patient soul. She radiated joy, gentleness and humor, even to her very last days. She was an incredibly intelligent person, who had the wittiest quips and comebacks, and made her Facebook her personal Pinterest board. Her sense of humor was quirky, and she enjoyed letting her weirdness shine through.

Though her battle with the beast that is cancer only lasted 9 months, she will not be remembered for her brutal and unfair end, but for the incredible person that she was, and the impact she will have on her many friends and family members. To quote Gandalf from her favorite movie series, ‘The Lord of the Rings’: “All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given us.” And in her short 33 years, Meridith did a damn good job with doing what she could with the time that she had.
