Mildred "Millie" Irma Eckman, age 88, was called home to the Lord on June 16, 2026.

Millie was born on July 8, 1937 in Gaylord, MN to Orville and Helen Salmonson. One of eight children, she was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Columbia Heights High School. On August 20, 1955, she married the love of her life, Harold. Together they built a life rooted in commitment, faith, and enduring love. Their marriage was blessed with 10 children, and they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

A devoted Christian, she lived her faith daily. Her greatest joy in life was raising and caring for her children. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Helen; her beloved husband, Harold; an infant daughter; her son, Brian; her grandson, Archer; and six of her siblings.

She leaves behind a legacy through her eight surviving children: sons, Brad (Heidi), Paul (Heide), and Brent; daughters, Pamela, Cynthia (Nick), Deborah (Kraig), Barbara (Brian), and Brenda (Dennis), 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Millie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love of family, and the kindness she shared with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she loved.

A graveside service for Millie will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2026 at Oakland Cemetery located at 927 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN 55117. (please assemble at the south entrance to the cemetery on Sycamore St @ 11:45 AM) A light luncheon will follow the graveside service.
