Monica A. Muckala

Age 96, of St. Paul passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025.

Monica was born on April 9, 1929, in St. Paul, to George Tschida Sr. and Mary Angela (née Kavanaugh) Tschida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Russell; three brothers, George Jr., Morgan, & Jack; sister, Miriam; daughter-in-law, Nancy; and infant granddaughter.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (James) Bryngelson, John Kala, William, Thomas, Kathy Melco, & Michael; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She had been a Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of Maternity of Mary Altar and Rosary Society, Homemakers, Rosetown Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and a volunteer at Como Park Conservatory, and Japanese Garden.

Being very social, she loved visiting with family, cousins, classmates from St. Joe's Academy, and the Arby's lunch bunch. She was famous for her Holiday decoration lunches with friends at her home. She was a regular at family reunions of the Muckala, Kavanaugh, Huhta, and Pitzl families.

She enjoyed camping, and camped all over the USA and Canada with her family, in a Pop-up camper and then a Winnebago camper-trailer. She also enjoyed traveling around the world. One of her favorite places to visit was Hawaii, which she visited over 20 times.

She was an avid piano player and belonged to two painting groups where she created more than 100 paintings. Monica was an arts and crafts enthusiast- her and Russell created over 200 of her various "masterpieces" from small Loon refrigerator magnets and mosquito houses to large Easter egg trees. They were volunteers at the Roseville Seniors Craft Store where her and Russell also sold many of their items.

Memorial Visitation from 2-6 PM Friday, July 25 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME- ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. (at County Road B). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Monica's memory.
