Paul Donald Schmidt

Paul passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of April 22, 2020. He was diagnosed with vascular dementia in December 2018.​Paul is preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Schmidt.  Survived by mother Lillian A. Schmidt; adult children, Amber Lahr (Nick) & Steven Eckman (Amy); siblings Karen Wagner (Ken), Susan Schmidt (Rob Briggle), Chris Koster (Lori Abraham), Wendy Koster; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many family and friends.​Paul is the eldest child of Don and Lill Schmidt. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Centennial High School in Circle Pines, MN.  He was proud of being an Eagle Scout and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps (USMC); both experiences created his fondest memories and friendships. Following his years of service, he attended St Paul TVI, which began his career in the diesel trucking industry. He enjoyed attending car shows, watching car races and hockey, 4-wheeling in side-by-side, riding his Harley motorcycle, listening to country music, grilling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Private Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.​Memorials preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project.
