Phillip Lee "Phil" Pommier, age 76 of Roseville, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
Born on September 29, 1949, in Slayton, MN, to the late Lloyd and Ellen Mae (Regenberg) Pommier. He grew up on a dairy farm, graduated from Eagle Bend High School, and joined the Air Force. Phil was united in marriage to Maureen Weidell on November 4, 1972, in Roseville, MN. Phil was hardworking and dedicated. He spent over 20 years working at Knox Lumber and the remainder of his career at MN/DOT, retiring thereafter.
Phil always made time for his family and his passions. In his younger years, he played on a softball team and transitioned to an avid golfer in his later years, enjoying the senior tee boxes and "special" set of rules established with his core group of golfing friends and family. He took great pride in his garden, his yard, and his vehicles never had a speck of dirt. Phil enjoyed crossword puzzles, a good pizza, extra rare prime rib, and craft beers. Phil was a faithfully skeptical MN Vikings fan, a passion he shared with his siblings. He especially enjoyed visits with his neighbors and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his daily walks on all the Roseville area trails and couldn’t wait to tell us about all the big bucks and deer he saw on his walks. He had a soft spot for Golden Retrievers, especially his Tiga and Callie. He rarely missed an opportunity to crack a joke, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His love for hunting and fishing was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; his two sons, Jason (Stephanie) Pommier and Nathan (Michelle) Pommier; 4 grandchildren; siblings Carol (George) Warner, Charles (Linda) Pommier, Marilyn (Dennis) Drong, Warren (Laura) Pommier, Jean (Jerome) Wigdahl, Kathleen (Michael) McGill, Richard (Gabi) Pommier, Mark Pommier, and Steve (Colleen) Pommier, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
The family invites all who knew and loved Phil to join them in celebrating his life.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Phil will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 9 at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 1414 N. Dale St., St. Paul. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 - 10:30 AM Friday. A reception/luncheon will be held immediately following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota. We find comfort in knowing that Phil's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
