Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather
Raymond "Bud" Steglich, passed away peacefully on February 3rd, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Eleanor Steglich of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin; and in-laws, Arthur and Lillian Bielenberg of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Bud is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bette; and children, Dayna (Jeff), Heather (Rolando), and Brian (Michele). Loving grandfather to Henry, Olivia, Gunther, Jack, Owen, and Kate. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary (Arlene) of Barron, Wisconsin, Lynn (Sandy) of Roberts, Wisconsin, and sister-in-law Susan Bielenberg of St. Paul.
Bud was born in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin in 1941. He graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1959. He served two years in the Army and then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. He met Bette and they were married in 1968. Bud was a heat and frost insulator and worked for the Heat and Frost Insulators Union Local #34 until he retired in 1998. He was very active in his church, taking care of the lawn, snow, boiler, and anything else that needed to be done. He gardened, hunted, fished, and enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Bone Lake.
He was very active in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives, attending school and sporting events, and took great pride in watching them grow.
A memorial service for Bud will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 21 at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. 285 N. Dale St., St. Paul. Visitation will be at the church 1 hour prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:30 AM Saturday. A luncheon will be provided following the service in the church undercroft. Interment will be at a later date at Fort Snelling with Military Honors.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony Park Home for the wonderful care that was given to Bud over the past 3.5 years and Health Partners Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
