Richard "Rick" Bangert, age 75, of Circle Pines, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Rick was born on October 28, 1950, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Melvin and Peggy Bangert, who preceded him in death.
Rick proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He dedicated much of his life to serving his community, working for the City of Circle Pines and spending many years as a firefighter with the Centennial Fire Department and the Coon Rapids Fire Department. Whether through his work or his service, Rick was always willing to lend a helping hand and make a difference in the lives of others.
Outside of work, Rick had a passion for collecting. He especially enjoyed firefighter memorabilia, tractors, and die-cast cars, taking great pride in growing and sharing his collections with family and friends.
Above all else, Rick was a devoted father and an incredibly proud grandfather. He treasured every opportunity to watch his granddaughters, Caitlyn and Taylor, compete in sports and celebrated each of their accomplishments with unwavering pride. His love and support for his family were evident in everything he did.
Rick is survived by his sons, Phil (Maggie) and Eric; his beloved granddaughters, Caitlyn and Taylor; his sisters, Becky Ross (Kurt), Julie Miller, and Andrea Puterbaugh (Alan); his brother, Tim (Jody); along with many extended family members, friends, and former colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rick's life on Monday, July 13, at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by a funeral service.
Rick will be remembered for his dedication to serving others, his love of family, his passion for collecting, and the quiet strength and kindness that defined his life. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched and in the memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
