Rita passed away on May 18 and joined her beloved companion, Terry Madden, and the Lord. She loved her church and the girls she would hang around with there. She would often talk to her friends Georgia, Juanita, Jan, and Lenore on the phone for hours about politics, what was on TV, and their favorite game shows.
Rita also enjoyed her weekly visits with her friend and neighbor, Jim. Jim always kept a good eye on her and would make daily stops to pick up her paper to bring to her in the house. She was always grateful for that.
She also loved Las Vegas, the casinos, and playing video poker, making several trips there alone over the years. When she couldn’t go to Vegas, she and her friend Georgia would drive up to Hinckley to gamble there. At one point, going once a month.
Rita worked at Saint Joseph’s Hospital for 26 years of her life, making many friends there that she talked about up until the end.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life. Whenever she was around them, she would have a smile from ear to ear. They all made her very happy.
Rita‘s wit and filter-free talking will never be forgotten.
