Robert C. Bacon

Robert “Bob”, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, following a heartbreaking struggle with dementia.

Bob grew up in Lexington, Minnesota and graduated from Marshall High School. Bob started his career at McQuay, later moved onto Onan and finally ended up working primarily as a data analyst for Target, he then transferred to IBM to finish out his career contributing to both organizations.

Bob brought love, laughter, and created a teaching moment to every interaction. He loved spending time with his family and several lifelong friends. He was a proud dad and a dedicated grandpa; he attended sporting events, graduations and coordinated many cherished outings that his grandkids will hold near and dear. Bob was known for his quick wit; he loved joking around and could always find a reason to smile. He also had a soundtrack for every moment, often singing limericks or lyrics from new and old tunes he loved. Bob held a deep passion for proper grammar. No matter who you were, you could count on Bob to correct your grammar with a playful seriousness.

With an appreciation for nature, Bob loved the quietness of fishing and watching and learning about birds. He enjoyed cooking; you could often find him in the kitchen preparing food at family gatherings. One of his most shared hobbies was collecting and painting rocks, he also polished rocks and turned them into beautiful pieces of jewelry.

Bob’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his final years were stolen by dementia, his family takes comfort in knowing he is finally at peace.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Darwin and mother Alice (Coles) Bacon, father Bob and stepmother Carol McLeester, sister Pat Baughman and his niece Renee.

Bob is survived by his children, David Frisk (Julie), Daniel (Tosha) Frisk, Kelli (Tim) Peterson, and Sara Dahl including stepchildren Kim Zschunke, John Martin, and Jamie (Bill) Richardson; grandchildren, Karlee (Richard) Anderson, Brandon (Tovah) Peterson, Justine Frisk, Sean Frisk, Kaylin (Cody) Yngsdal, Ryan Frisk (Jessica), and Aaron (Roberta) Frisk including step grandchildren Ben Zschunke, Jacob Zschunke, Emma Zschunke, Sabrina Martin, Jackson Richardson, Jane Richardson, and Avery Richardson; great-grandchildren, Kadence, Roxy, Aria, Rykii, Malaya, Kamari, Amara, and Anders; his siblings Dick McLeester, Bruce McLeester, Elladan McLeester, Peggy McFadden and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home at 7050 Lake Drive in Lino Lakes, MN on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 3 to 6 pm.
