Roger John Seaborg, age 90 of Oakdale, passed away at home on December 21, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jake McKenzie; and brother, Ron Seaborg.
Roger was born in St Paul, Minnesota in 1935 to Harry and Margaret Seaborg. After graduating from Murray High School he worked at the First National Bank in St Paul, where he met his future wife, Virginia. They married in March of 1955. Roger served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in various locations including Georgia, El Paso, TX and Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. After his discharge they eventually moved to North St. Paul and raised their family.
Roger was survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia; his children, Pam Blazina (Tom), Penny McKenzie (Bob), and Scott Seaborg (Kathy); his grandchildren, Ali, Kelly, Colin, Meghan, Matt, Steve, and Kirsten; his great-grandchildren, Graham, McKinley, Camilla, Judah, Selah, Eden, Landon, Myles, William, Tessa, and Colton; his step-granddaughter, Heather; and step-great grandchildren, Grace and Grant. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Rick (Linda) nieces and nephews.
For most of his life Roger was very active and enjoyed yard work, gardening vegetables and flowers, projects around his home (and his children’s homes), bike riding, walking, skiing out West with friends, and golfing. He also worked many years at the Grandstand Ticket Office during the Minnesota State Fair and enjoyed family road trip vacations. Above all he was very proud of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Following a private interment at Roselawn Cemetery, a memorial service for Roger and Virginia will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 12 at New Life Presbyterian Church, 965 Larpenteur Ave. W, Roseville. Visitation will be at the church from 10-11 AM Monday. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
