Ronald J. Degennaro

Age 71, passed away on January 19th, 2023, after a long illness. He was born on November 8th, 1951, in Glendale, CA where he grew up enjoying the surf and sun of Santa Cruz beach and his mother’s fabulous Italian cooking. He followed his parents to Minnesota in 1986 where he raised his family in Lino Lakes. He loved to sing, play guitar, hunt, fish and spend time with his family and friends.​Ron’s struggles with chronic mental illness and other physical challenges eventually brought him to Northern Minnesota, where he spent his final years. While these challenges kept them apart, in the ways he was able, Ron let his loved ones know how much he cared. We are grateful to the many individuals who advocated and cared for Ron during this time, even when he made it challenging to do so.​Preceded in death by parents, Dominic “Dee” DeGennaro, Caterina “Rina” and Manuel “Manny” Cabezas.  Survived by children, Joshua DeGennaro, Katie (Daniel) Sauter; their mother, Mary Penwarden; grandchildren, Ezra, Samuel, and Ruby; siblings, Tom (Vicky) DeGennaro, Debbie O’Connor, Gayle (Charlie) Ng, Janet (Cal) Davis, John Cabezas, and Tom (Caron) Cabezas along with several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service 11:00 AM Friday, February 3rd at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-LINO LAKES, 7050 Lake Dr. Visitation from 10-11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
