Steven Young

Steven Douglas Young, age 70, passed away in his Shoreview home on August 6, 2022. 

Steven was preceded in death by his father, William Young. 

Steven is survived by his mother, Wendla Young; brother, William Young (Shelly); sisters, Kathy Kunze and Lisa Luka (Jim); daughter Amy Young, son Jesse Young (Sarah), daughter  Debralyn Bryant, son Joseph Young (Candice); stepson Christopher Rodgers (Beth); stepdaughter, Amanda Johnson; grandchildren Violet, Florence, Jesse, James, Andrew, Shannon, Elijah, Mariah, Anthony, Alyssa, Christie Bell, Aaliyah, Ali Jr.; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Steven was born on June 24, 1952 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When he was 4 years old he and his family moved to Southern California, where he developed his love for L.A. sports teams. He and his family returned to Minnesota in 1968. He graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School in 1970. Steven then enlisted in the Navy and served during the Vietnam War.  

Steven was a machinist by trade, finishing his career at Minnesota Grinding in Crystal, MN. He had a love for God, his family, and sports (specifically baseball). He will be missed and remembered, especially for his sense of humor. 

Memorial service 11:00 AM Saturday, August 20 at Hope Lutheran Church, 5200 Emerson Ave N, Minneapolis. Visitation from 4-7 PM Friday, August 19 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Drive (County Hwy 23), and at the church from 10-11 AM Saturday.​

Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.​
