Susan J. Frieburg

Susan "Sue" Jean Frieburg (née Maki), age 69, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, with her family by her side.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Ellen (née Heikkila) Maki; parents-in-law, Clayton and E. Janell (née Jacobs) Frieburg and sister-in-law, Nancy Maki.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Darryl Frieburg; her children, Jessica (Michael) Harris, Kimberly (Charles) Hoppenrath, and Brandon Frieburg; her grandchildren, Sadys, Danielle, and Andrea Hoppenrath, Shawn, Olivia, Clayton and Emily Harris and Landon Frieburg; her siblings, Darrel (Luisa DelCaro) Maki, Duane (Jane) Maki, Gary Maki, Janet Maki, Dean (Jody) Maki, Christine (Jose) Hernandez, Dianne Kapsner, Jolene Cassidy-Horton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends and family members.

Sue was the woman her children’s friends called mom and if you met her once, you were family, and she made sure you knew every time she saw you. She was a bright light in the world and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was an incredible daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Memorial service 11:00 AM Friday, August 23 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1 North Rd., Circle Pines.  Visitation at the church from 10:00 - 11:oo AM Friday.
