Theodore R. Anderson

Theodore R. Anderson "Ted" passed away on February 10, 2023 at the age of 94.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pauline; youngest son, Byron; and brothers, Peter and Dale.

He is survived by his sister, Esther (Karl); brother, Warren (Mary); children, Raymond, Paula, Jolene, Michael, Robert, several grandchildren and their spouses, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.

Ted was born in Minneapolis/Eden Prairie to Mildred and Sidney Anderson on November 26, 1928. He grew up on the family farms where he worked hard plowing and cultivating with horses for many years. He attended and graduated Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson, MN. As a young adult he moved to the Twin Cities where he met and married Pauline Yarbrough. Together they raised their six children, and later, their grandson Chris. They lived in Brooklyn Center from the late 60’s to present.

Most of his adult life Ted was a painter by trade, and a very skilled handy man in many of the other building trades and as a mechanic. He and Pauline loved to travel and took many road trips across the US and into Canada. Ted had a passion for everything in nature, especially birds, butterflies and flowers. He was an avid gardener and he loved to fish which he did until just a few months before he passed. For several winters in the 70’s and 80’s he and brother Dale and friend Dean skied in Colorado. He skied the Austrian Alps one winter as well. He loved antique automobiles and owned several classics through the years. He was a longtime member of the Lincoln Continental Owners Club. Ted had many more skills and achievements. Though a frugal man, he gave generously of himself, his time and talents. He is sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Cornerstone Church Crystal, 5000 W. Broadway Ave., Crystal, MN 55429. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Saturday at the church.
