Virginia June Perman (Awe)

Age 98, Virginia "Ginny" (Awe) Perman died June 23, 2025 in Roseville, MN.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was born in Owen, Wisconsin, on June 14, 1927. She graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1945, and married Victor Perman in Greenwood, Wisconsin, on June 10, 1950.

Married for 61 years, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor, daughter, Vicki, and son-in-law, Tom Ryan.

Survived by remaining daughters, Lauri Perman, Joan (Jim) Bertelsen, Jean (Steve) Olson, and Karen (Tim) Borgert; grandchildren, Erick (Jess) and Kate Bertelsen, Nate Ryan (Meghan Mason), Kyle and Ryan Olson, and Jessica, Christopher, and Marissa Borgert (Josh Ojile); three great-grandchildren, Solvi and Leif Bertelsen, and Owen Ryan; cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ginny loved children, games, gardening, sewing, quilting, baking, celebrating holidays, the Minnesota State Fair, and was an avid Gophers basketball fan. She believed in “an apple a day” and when asked the secret of her longevity, she said, “keep moving”.

Visitation 9:30 - 10:45 am followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 am on Friday, August 15, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 1660 County B Rd W, Roseville, MN 55113. A luncheon will follow the service.
