'Grandma G' was not a title she inherited through a family tree—it was one she earned through years of unconditional love, unwavering generosity, and a steadfast presence.

Wanda Jean Grams passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 1:06 p.m. 

Wanda was born in Pasadena, Texas, on May 13, 1948, to William Robert Page, Sr. and A. Beatrice Page. Though she moved to Maryland in 1978, and eventually made Minnesota her home in 2007, she never lost her Texas roots. She was always ready for some creamed spinach and cornbread—just don’t forget the heat! It was never too spicy for Wanda. Wanda had an interesting and varied career. She worked as a key punch operator, a purchasing agent at Patuxent River Military Base, a radio station receptionist, and for AAA before finding her place as a Reservations Agent with Northwest Airlines in Baltimore, Maryland, in February 2000. 

Wanda loved working for the airlines and moved to Minnesota in 2007 when the Baltimore office closed. She later became a supervisor and remained in that role until her retirement in 2010. Wanda met Bill Grams in December 2007, and the two shared a whirlwind romance before marrying on July 5, 2008. Famous Dave’s catered their reception, and each year on their anniversary, even after Bill’s passing, Wanda and her friends and family returned to Famous Dave’s to celebrate the love and memories they built together. Their marriage was filled with laughter, love, and the little things that made Wanda feel cherished. 

Though Bill passed away in January 2013 due to health complications related to his Agent Orange exposure during his service in Vietnam, his love for Wanda continued to be felt throughout the rest of her life. Wanda always wanted to marry a veteran, and she found the best one there was. Bill made sure Wanda had every bell and whistle on their vehicles and home appliances, filled their kitchen with every gadget imaginable, and did everything he could to make her happy. 

Bill’s dog, Inka, quickly fell in love with Wanda just as much as he did. All it took was Wanda feeding her “food on a fork”, and Inka was forever devoted. Later, Gracie became the “puppy” Wanda never knew she needed and helped carry her through the grief of losing Bill. Gracie proudly continued the “food on a fork” tradition and made sure she was never left out at the dinner table. 

Bill raised good men, and the Grams boys showed that through the way they continued to show up for Wanda. They never allowed her to feel like she had lost her place in their family. They checked in, stayed connected, and remained a fixture in her life, carrying forward the love and kindness that Bill had always shown her. Wanda didn’t just gain a husband when she married Bill—she gained a family, and the boys made sure she always knew she belonged. 

Wanda was a two-time breast cancer survivor and a true fighter. She had a special love for all dogs. Every dog, no matter their age, was a puppy in Wanda’s eyes, and every single one was the “goodest boy” or “goodest girl” who deserved a treat—regardless of what their mom or dad said. 

Wanda was loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to know her. 

To many, Wanda was simply “Grandma G.” Though she did not have children of her own, she had a remarkable way of making people feel like family. What began as a friendship with Terri Hall grew into a bond that spanned generations, and Wanda became a beloved grandmother figure to Terri’s children and grandchildren. “Grandma G” was not a title she inherited through a family tree—it was one she earned through years of unconditional love, unwavering generosity, and a steadfast presence in the lives of those she cherished. 

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James Leared and Bob “Bubba” Leared; and her husband, Bill Grams. 

Wanda is survived by her beloved cousin, Janis Russell, and her children; her stepsons, Frank (Laura) Grams and their children, Christopher and Steven Grams; Mark (Brenda) Grams and their son, Connor Grams; and Scott and Michael Grams and fiancé Sonya Conroy and her children, Brenden Scheuble and Laine Scheuble. Wanda is also survived by her chosen family, and devoted caregiver, Terri Hall; Terri’s children, Kaylee Hall (Jordan Reed) and her daughter, Emalee Cleveland; Johnathan (Sylvie) Hall-Kallappa and their children, Kohen Bush, Theo Hall, and Janice Kallappa; Bryon (Erin) Hall and their children, Killian and Lachlan Hall; Kimberlee (Jordan) Berger and their children, Madelynn Hall and Adrian Berger; Eli Hall; and the adopted brother of the Hall family, John Dewitt. 

A visitation will be held at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home - Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Drive, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wanda will be buried with her husband, Bill, in Fort Snelling at a private ceremony.
