William C. Loss

William “Bill” Charles Loss, age 72, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, passed away on December 24, 2025.

Born on October 22, 1953, Bill grew up in Roseville and graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1971. Bill was a man who truly came alive in a crowd; whether he was at a concert, a comedy club, or behind the counter of his business, he was always the one making sure everyone around him was having a good time.

Bill’s career began with 15 years as a mechanic for the Metropolitan Transit Commission (MTC), but he eventually traded the garage for his own business when he opened Straightshooters Billiards and Arcade. Over the fifteen years the pool hall was open, Bill’s personality truly shined. While he loved the game of pool and the music, his real passion was the people. He became a fixture in the lives of his customers, many of whom he referred to as “his kids.” To many, Straightshooters was a second home and Bill was a second father, always ready with a joke, a laugh, and a place to belong.

A true lover of community and country music, Bill was a familiar face at the Winstock Music Festival in Winsted and WE Fest in Detroit Lakes for many, many years. These festivals were the highlight of his year, emphasizing his love for being part of a crowd and sharing laughs and jokes with everyone he came in contact with. He never met a stranger he couldn’t make smile.

Above all, Bill was a devoted family man. He shared 51 years of marriage with his wife, Wanda, building a life of memories and love while raising their 2 sons.

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Marie; his parents, George and Gerrie; and his brothers, Dan and Joe.

His legacy lives on through his wife, Wanda Loss; his sons, Shawn Loss and Justin Loss; and his four grandchildren, Blake, Carter, Kennedy, and Nolan, who will all forever remember his humor and heart.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, January 3 from 12-3 PM at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-LINO LAKES, 7050 Lake Dr., Lino Lakes, MN 55014. The family will be hosting a celebration of life on May 16, 2026 from 2-5 PM at 6956 Lake Dr., Lino Lakes, MN 55014.
