Rosa Maria Freitas Silva born November 19, 1953 of Terceria, Azores Portugal, now of Lino Lakes, MN died November 21, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer.

She is preceded in death by her mother Rosa Borges Melo, father João Viveiros, & infant brother Armando Da Silva.

Rosa leaves behind her loving husband Liberal "Lee" Silva after 45 years of marriage. Children Rosa (Wade) of Isanti, MN, Julia of Isanti, MN, Lee Jr. (Melody) of Woodbury, MN. Her heart that are her grandchildren: Madison (24), Cassidy(22), Tiara(18), Alanah(17), Gino(15), Selena(14), Franco(13), Jaxson (12), & Rocco(12). Sister Herminia (Allan) Hurst of Anoka, MN; brother Celestino (Manuela) Da Silva of Toronto, Canada; sister Belmira (Clarimundo) of Terceria, Azores Portugal. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews & extended family & many friends.

Rosa met & married Lee within 9 months on Dec 20th, 1975. Then in November of 1976, she followed her husband to the United States where they began their lives together in Circle Pines & then eventually settling in their home in Lino Lakes in 1979. They raised their 3 children there, allowing her to be a stay at home mom most of her children's lives.

Rosa was diagnosed at the age of 36 with End Stage Three Ovarian Cancer. After 2 years of an immense fight with chemo & 5 years worth of follow up visits, she was put on remission, labeled as a "Miracle". Rosa found work at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN for 20 years in housekeeping; where she also made many long lasting friendships. During her remission, she also was able to travel back to her home country a few times, spending time with her mother, sister, & extended family. She was able to hold family get-togethers, enjoy time with friends, & entertaining visitors. She always took pride in her home & welcomed everyone there with open arms & food. She was able to spend many a night listening to her husband crack jokes just to make her laugh. Rosa took the most pride in her grandchildren, ensuring she was there for all of their births. 20 years had then flown by & then 14 years ago, she was again re-diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer this time with metastasis Adenocarcinoma.

She fought with every fiber of her being, but her loving, kind, giving, and generous spirit remained. Her youngest 2 children stepped in to assist their dad in providing around the clock care for her after her last hospitalization in October. She was enrolled into Hospice who provided everything her family & friends could not. At 3:41 AM, Rosa, in the home she loved, took her last breath holding her loving husband's hand.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Ecumen Hospice, for their amazing care, love, & support. Special thanks to mom's best friend, Kathy, & family friend, Jessi, who the family are forever grateful for. To the team at MN Oncology - Coon Rapids especially that of Dr. Cardamone who provided exceptional care all of these years.

To everyone who loved, prayed, visited, checked in, thought of, and donated...we are forever thankful.
